"Carew Sloan puts her beauty and brains to good use as a corporate spy. Her typical cases involve helping the underdog. Her current mission to get classified information from Vasilije Juric hits a snag almost immediately when she comes face to face with his esteemed bodyguard, Zoran.

After surviving a massacre and the death of his parents at an early age, Zoran joined the military fighting against the atrocities which cost him so much. Upon departing the armed forces, he went into business for himself and started a private security firm. He's very hardened but has a close and caring relationship with his brother. It's sweet to see them look after one another.

Zoran quickly spots things are out of sorts when a beautiful woman seems to size up his boss at the club. He's nice enough to offer her warning, but Carew doesn't take it. After she gets the info she needs, she makes a run for it. Unfortunately, her escape doesn't go as planned.

This has to be one of the best prologues I've read. It starts with a high speed car chase. Talk about pulling me into the story. It ends with Zoran saying, "You're mine now, princeza." Oy, it was red-hot! First off, I love the name Carew. With romance novels you get all kinds of different and unique names; some work well and some don't but this one is great.

This is the fourth title I've read by Christine Edwards and it was definitely my favorite. She has a penchant for great, grunty alpha males with a soft side and feisty, smart heroines who don't always like to listen to good advice. I think with this volume the author has made some subtle changes in the characters' approach to situations they are thrown in and it made a notable improvement in how I perceived everything as a whole. It has everything I look for in an erotic romance; great characters, suspense, drama, and hot sex!"

Another Great Read!! Loved it!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
'Captured in Croatia' by Christine Edwards is the story of Carew Sloan and Zoran.
Carew is a Corporate spy for a a private intelligence company. Carew is trying to get information from Juric...so she goes home with him to try to steal information from him. Juric is a very dangerous man and is protected by Zoran...who is the body guard.
Carew goes to Juric home and ends up escaping with Zoran chasing after her. Carew ends up in a car accident and Zoran takes her from the accident and makes keeps her.
Zoran is attracted to Carew from the first and does try to warn her from Juric...but she doesn't listen to him. Now Zoran has taken her and will protect her and try to find out what she is after.
This was a very exciting read that had the car chase, spying, hot scene and just another great book by Ms. Edwards!!

A titillating erotic adventure

Christine Edwards has a magic pen when it comes to putting you into the space whether it be in the Croatian countryside, a chic niteclub, the bedroom or in the head of the protagonists. You are there and you are immersed in a world that pulls you along with every word put to paper.

This story builds as it compels you to care for and to root for certain characters in the story. She writes so you wish to keep turning to that next page. I found my blood boiling in a good way in certain scenes between the two main characters, Carew and Zoran.

They are two strong characters who don't disappoint. I love the aspects of the BDSM play that would come out in a lot of the scenes...it didn't feel forced but right for the set-up and situations for each scene and character.

All in in all a good solid sit down fast erotic thrilling read. My only complaint is that I simply wanted more of it. The story seemed to too short of a ride. I would have liked to see more tension building scenes between the two main characters and plot in general in regards to the resolution of the story.

Definitely worth buying and reading to the end!

I wish to be "Captured" by Zoran!

Let me first say, my name is Michelle, I am the wife of Scott G & it is his account that pops up when I review.

Now onto the review. Christine sent me catapulting into Croatia. From the beginning to the end, all I could think of was wanting to visit the home of Zoran. To be protected by him. To be his, to have him Master over me.

From the heart pounding beginning to the sorrows in each of their lives that keeps being revealed throughout the story. You can't help but know, even from across the vast ocean waters & their different cultures, that Carew & Zoran are meant to be. I found myself hoping, fingers crossed tightly. And the sex...come on, Christine is a Master in her own right at blowing away all the boundaries that maybe you the reader may think would be "wrong" or "dirty." Instead you will get wrapped up in the raw sexuality, the intensity & the devotion that Carew & Zoran have to bring each other completely over the edge of mind numbing, muscle weakening, crying out from the sheer joy BLISS

Expensive, but it was useful.

Not bad as an introductory book. If you know virtually nothing about the field it will give you a flyover at 50,000 feet kind of an overview. It lacks a glossary though which in my opinion is essential. I found it lacking in terms of connecting some of the dots between complicating factors and solutions that lead to a change in mining trends that had to be answered by other texts and classes throughout my degree. I was much more impressed with this the first time I read through it than I was after I read through it again towards the tail end of my degree, but then again I knew nothing about mining when I started as a freshman. For the amount of money this text is I guess I expected a bit more.

Not very informative

Not written to especially high standards. There are many ways this book could be improved. For example, there is no glossary, but there are a couple of embedded lists that define a portion of the jargon used in the book. You can't find the lists when you need them, nor has there been much effort to completely define terms, as the production of a glossary would naturally motivated. There are other problems, leading to a rather mediocre product. Examples: Lots of description of what is currently done (say in excavating or demolition) or how things are trending, without any sort of engineering explanation. From an education standpoint that's just a bunch of filler. Similarly, lists of factors to be considered for a particular aspect of mine development (climate, slope, soil, etc.), paired up with lists of development options (leaching, open pit, tunnel, for example), without any discussion of which of the first list affect or how they affect choices in the second list. In other words this book has a lot of abstract 'what' in the form of lists and factors, with very little 'how.' From this book alone, a reader would advance very little toward becoming a mining engineer.

I have a workbook that is basically useless without the audio program

I am very displeased. This workbook makes many references to the "Past Life Regression Audio Program" (sometimes referred to as CD) which is needed to use the information in the workbook effectively. No copy of the audio program was included with the book, nor was there information included about where to find the audio program/CD. I spent an evening trying online to find the audio program/CD with no results. I have a workbook that is basically useless without the audio program, and I cannot find the audio program. I would be satisfied with a printed script.

I am not happy that I wasted my money and my time.

The newest addition to Arcadia's outstanding "Images of America" series, Milwaukee Fire Department by Wayne Mutza (who served for almost twenty years with the Milwaukee Fire Department before the hazards of firefighting ended his career) tells the story of the Milwaukee Fire Department from its origins as a volunteer group in 1837 down to the present day. Milwaukee Fire Department is not a strictly text history, but rather a photographic one, consisting almost entirely of black-and-white photographs from the past century and a half, each photograph sporting a brief caption detailing its origin. A treasury of visual history, steeped in pride, gratitude, and respect for the selfless and often heroic labor of Milwaukee's protectors against the ravages of fire.
